My 2019 New Years Resolutions

It’s a new year! These last couple of years I’ve been pretty good about actually following through on my resolutions, so it’s time to keep truckin’ on and keep working towards self improvement! Below are my resolutions for the new year.

Get better at Photography/Editing

I’ve gotten really into Lightroom presets lately, which are amazing! But I just got a new camera for Christmas. I want to learn more about aperture, shutter speed and ISO, because right now, those are all just foreign words to me – I have no idea what they do! I want to dedicate some time each week or at least every other week to watching videos online and learning. I’d also like to learn more and experiment more with editing in Photoshop, not just Lightroom – adding light beams where needed, editing out extra people, the works!

Reach Goal Weight & Gain Muscle

I am nine pounds away from my goal weight! This is the year I finally make it happen. I also want to continue to strength build and gain more muscle, hopefully some visible abs for the first time in my life and better biceps!

Explore more of LA

I’ve already explored so much this past year, like shopping around Venice or going to a Skylent Disco at OUE Skyspace. However, this is a big city and I know there’s still a lot I’m missing out on! For example, I have yet to visit the Griffith Observatory (shameful, I know). I want to see more of the LA area this year.

Travel More

The travel bug has got me GOOD. I am itching to travel, especially out of the country! I am trying to plan an out of the country trip for the year. As for just traveling in general, the year is already off to a great start! Tom and I will be spending a weekend this month in Big Bear, CA for my birthday. I’m excited to see some snow!

Become a tidier person

My place always feels cluttered and I’m not the best at picking up after myself immediately. This year, I want my place to always look put together so that a guest could pop in at any time and I don’t have to apologize for the mess! Stay tuned on my Instagram, because in the coming months I may start offering up items for sale that I am willing to ship.

Be more positive

I like to think of myself as an optimist, but because of my anxiety, I can tend to get negative. I want to battle those negative thoughts more this year. I’m starting off by reading “The Gratitude Diaries: How a Year Looking on the Bright Side Can Transform Your Life” by Janice Kaplan. I’m hoping it can give me some new insights I hadn’t thought of before.

As a thank you to all of you readers and a start to the new year, I am having a giveaway over on my Instagram! Make sure to enter! What are some of your resolutions this year? Let me know in the comments below!

Fantastic and ambitious and specific resolutions! You must get to Griffith Observatory, it’s marvelous! I received “The Gratitude Diaries” for Christmas and am loving it! My resolution is to spend less and create more…. spend less eating out, creating more meals at home; spend less on home decor and create more art…you get the idea. Love your posts, may 2019 be positively full of accomplishment and joy!

Thank you! I’ll definitely need to check it out. I came pretty close once, but the parking was full so we turned around and went home. Next time I’ll probably Uber instead. I love your resolution! It’s great how it applies to more areas of life than just one! Thank you so much, Amy, I hope you continue to enjoy my posts to come. 🙂 Have a wonderful 2019!
