A Fall Day at Disneyland
Over the weekend, some friends and I went to Disneyland. It’s important to note that this is officially after Halloween… and all of the Christmas decorations are already out! I kind of loved it, to be honest. I go to Disneyland pretty frequently, so I know exactly which rides I want to go on. We spent most of our day in California Adventure, but a friend and I managed to pop into Disneyland for the last hour of our day.
First walking into California Adventure, we were surrounded by all things Christmas. I’m definitely feeling the Christmas spirit lately, so I had to take a ton of pictures with their giant Christmas tree! After we admired the Christmas beauty in the main entrance area, we headed to the relatively new Pixar Pier.
Pixar Pier was great! We rode the new Incredicoaster, which I thought wouldn’t look too different from the old California Screamin’. However, they added a lot of really cool character and effects details within the tunnels of the roller coaster! I highly recommend checking it out. They also had these amazing cookies next to the ride that were supposed to play off Jack Jack’s love of cookies. They’re called “Jack Jack Cookie Num Nums” – so cute! They were super delicious, but that’s just another tasty food I have to try to resist at Disneyland! Haha. We then went on Toy Story Midway Mania, which is one of my favorite rides at the park. I get really competitive, so I love that it’s a game combined with a ride! Although, my friend Fredo totally kicked my butt at it. After coming out of the Toy Story ride, we saw “Angry Dogs” which is super cute. We weren’t hungry so we didn’t get any, but we appreciated the cute design! Additional cute food included the adorable Finding Nemo/Finding Dory cake pops. While there, we also got a picture with Clarabelle and took some pictures with the cute Up and Wall-E murals. Before heading out, we stopped at Ghirardelli’s because I am obsessed with their Nob Hill Chills. It’s essentially a chocolate milkshake with hot fudge lining the cup and chocolate chips inside. If you are a chocolate addict like me, avoid at all costs! I can’t help but get one every time I go, because I’m addicted. It’s an issue.
On our way out of Pixar Pier, we stumbled into a cute Christmas show/parade, featuring the Three Caballeros! This included giant figures of Santa Clause and Mrs. Clause and a mariachi band. Mickey and Minnie joined towards the end of the show! It was really fun to watch.
We then headed over to ride the newly themed Guardians ride, “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!” I still love that ride, but I have to admit, I liked the Hollywood Tower of Terror version better. With the Guardians version, they added a lot of video and a little more bouncing up and down while you stay and watch that video, so it gets me more motion sick than before. I need to look down the whole time I’m riding it. We went and got some classic Mickey Pretzels after the ride (very important to wait until after) and looked around at some of the Christmas merchandise that’s already been put out. We got a glimpse of Vampirina as well!
Cars Land was all decked out for the holidays as well! There was a ton of tinsel everywhere, and Mater had the cutest Santa Hat! We went on two rides while in the area: “Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl” and “Mater’s Jingle Jamboree”. Both are super fun! On Luigi’s ride, you’re essentially in a car and all the cars are dancing. My friends and I like to have “dance offs” within our individual cars while our cars are doing their own dance. It’s a cute, silly ride, appropriate for all ages. On Mater’s ride, you are in a tow truck that whips you around fast as you dance around the yard. It’s super fun! It actually reminds me of a carnival ride I used to go on when I was little. This is another great ride for all ages. We didn’t have time to go on Radiator Springs Racers, but if that’s on your list, I highly recommend heading there at the start of your day to pick up a fast pass. It’s a really popular ride, probably one of the most popular in California Adventure!
To end the night, as mentioned earlier, my friend and I popped over to Disneyland for about an hour. We weren’t there for very long, so we didn’t get to do much, but we admired all of the Christmas decor and the pretty twinkle lights everywhere! We went on two rides, “Mad Tea Party” and “Indiana Jones Adventure”. Indiana Jones is one of my top rides at Disneyland! If I had more time, I would’ve gone on “Matterhorn Bobsleds”, “Dumbo The Flying Elephant” and “Haunted Mansion”.
